Fastest Way To Find Equipment In The Equipment List

Sorting equipment by classification presents a natural way to find equipment and build a panel. However, at times you may be looking for a particular piece of equipment. Traversing the category structure is not always the most efficient way to find it. Fortunately, there are two additional methods for finding equipment that can help.

Search Box



Located in the upper left hand corner of the XPanel software is the equipment tree search box. This text box accepts partial and full equipment names.

To use the search box simply type in a portion of the equipment's model name and click the binoculars or press enter. Subsequent clicks/enters will find the next match until the end of the list is reached.

Tip: The search starts from your current position in the list and searches down. You may want to move your selection to the top of the list prior to searching.

Sort By



Additionally, sometimes you will find it easier to sort the list of equipment my manufacturer to find the piece you are looking for. In the bottom left corner of the XPanel window (below the tree) you will notice a combo box that defaults to By Classification. Change the selection to By Manufacturer and the list will be sorted alphabetically by manufacturer.
